Slic Training - Facilities Management Training
Medal of Excellence from City and Guilds

April 21st

After completing his work for his Intermediate Apprenticeship in record time, including achieving over and above the required levels in both English and maths, Slic Training learner George Hemstock has been awarded a Regional Medal of Excellence by City and Guilds.

During his apprenticeship George worked for Newark and Sherwood District Council as an apprentice Environmental Conservation Officer, and was awarded Apprentice of the Year by his employers. George was nominated for his award by his Tutor, Mike Elliott, in recognition not only of his excellent work on his learning programme, but also of his work with local volunteers and community groups, including setting up a web-based forum to encourage the sustainability of the projects.

We congratulate George on his success, and wish him every success in his new role with Newark and Sherwood as Park Ranger at Sconce and Devon Park.
